CAT2021 Service Adjustment

The CAT 2021 service redesign aims to provide efficient and effective public transportation in Dauphin county, Cumberland County and the City of Harrisburg.

Below are descriptions of each service adjustment along with a link to the updated route timetable.

1 / Market Street – Route timetable adjusted to operate on 30 minute Weekday headways and 45 minute Saturday headways. Elimination of low ridership trips.

2 / Capitol Complex-ROC Shuttle – No service changes.

3 / Third Street – Route timetable adjusted to operate on 45 minute Weekday headways and 90 minute Saturday headways. All trips will begin/end at 2^nd & Linglestown stop, serving the Uptown Plaza stop as well.

3-6 / Night Loop – Route timetable adjusted to operate, on average, on 60 minute headways Monday through Saturday.

6 / Uptown Plaza–Harrisburg Mall – Route 6 extended to cover the Route 13 alignment; new route renamed “Uptown Plaza / Harrisburg Mall.” Discontinue deviation to Spring Creek.

Route timetable adjusted to operate on 45 minute Weekday headways and 60 minute Saturday headways.

7 / Middletown – Route timetable will operate, on average, on 45 minute Weekday headways and 120 minute Saturday headways. Most trips will service new Amtrak station as a stop. Reduction in trips through Capitol Complex.

During rush hours, select Limited Stop trips between Middletown/Highspire and Downtown Harrisburg (Transfer Center & Capitol Complex), bypassing Airport, Amtrak Station and PSU.

8 / Derry Street – Route timetable adjusted to operate on 60 minute Weekday headways and 90 minute headways. Elimination of low ridership trips.  Select trips will begin/end at Rutherford Park Apartments stop. Fresh Express stop added to second AM outbound trip.

9 / Cameron Street-Blue Mt Commons – Route extended from HACC Main Campus to Blue Mountain Commons shopping center, via Industrial Drive and Linglestown Road; new route renamed “Cameron Street / Blue Mt Commons.”  

Discontinue PA State Police stop. Capital Blue Cross stop moved to Route 39 timetable.

Route timetable adjusted to operate on 45 minute Weekday headways.

12 / Colonial Park –No changes to Weekday schedule; elimination of two Saturday short AM inbound trips due to low ridership.

13 / Paxton Street – Route alignment combined with Route 6.

14 / Springford Apartments – Select trip times adjusted to reduce peak vehicle usage.

17 / Union Deposit – Route timetable adjusted to operate on 45 minute headways Monday through Friday and 90 minute headways on Saturday. Addition of AM round trip on Saturday.

19 / Steelton – Route timetables adjusted to serve the Juvenile Center/Work Release stop on all trips.

20 / High Pointe Commons – Route timetable adjusted to operate on 90 minute headways Monday through Saturday.

23X / Elizabethville-HBG Express – Route timetable reduced from 8 trips to 4 trips. All trips will serve both Millersburg and Elizabethville stops.

27 / Hall Manor – Route discontinued due to low ridership. Service to Hall Manor will continue to be provided by Route 6; direct service to Hamilton Health Center will continue to be provided by Route 17.

39 / Progress Avenue – Route timetable will operate, on average, on 90 minute Weekday headways and 120 minute Saturday headways.

Capital Blue Cross stop added to select trips. Comcast stop discontinued due to low ridership. All trips will serve the Whisperwoods Apartments stop.

81X / Shippensburg-Carlisle Express – Route timetable reduced from 13 trips to 8 trips.  All AM inbound and PM outbound trips will serve Route 114 Park & Ride Lot, off Conodoguinet Parkway.

82X / Shippensburg-NSA Express – Route discontinued due to low ridership. Transportation alternatives may be available through PA Commuter Services (1-866-579-RIDE)

114 / Grocery Shopper – No service changes.

322 / Hershey-Hummelstown – No service changes

A / New Cumberland – Route timetable adjusted to operate on 90 minute Weekday headways. Midday service added to eliminate schedule gaps.

Capitol City Airport stop discontinued due to low ridership. Direct service onto New Cumberland DDRE Base discontinued.

AB / Independence Avenue Warehouses – Route renamed ”Independence Avenue Warehouses” to better reflect end-of-line destination.

B / Highland Park-Westport – Route timetable adjusted to operate, on average, 60-90 minute Weekday headways. Midday service added to eliminate schedule gaps.

All trips will use Carlisle Road between 10^th and 16^th Streets. All trips will serve HealthSouth

Hospital stop. Rossmoyne Business Park stop added to all inbound trips.

C / Carlisle – Route timetable will operate, on average, on 90 minute Weekday headways. All trips will serve Cumberland County Prison.

CY / Carlisle Pike Warehouses – No service changes.

D / Erford Road-Capital City Mall –No changes to Weekday schedule trip times. Saturday schedule adjusted to 90 minute headways.

Discontinuation of Grandview Avenue loop due to low ridership. Elimination of last PM inbound Highmark Blue Shield stop.

E / Simpson Ferry Express – No service changes.

F / Enola – Route timetable adjusted to operate, on average, on 120 minute Weekday headways. Midday service added to eliminate schedule gaps.

Most trips will begin/end at Giant Foods stop, with additional stops at Hampden Medical Center and Weis.  Short trips will begin/end at College Hill/Enola.

M / Mechanicsburg – No changes to Weekday or Saturday schedule trip times.

Direct service onto Mechanicsburg NSA Base discontinued.

W / Allen Road Warehouses – No service changes.
